Invisible, but not innocuous: microplastics in water
No matter if it is car tires, cosmetics or our clothing: the sources from which microplastics emerge are manifold. The problem is that the solid, water-insoluble plastic particles, which have a size of five millimeters and smaller, sooner or later end up unfiltered in our waste water – and thus in the water cycle that transports the microplastics across the oceans into our food chain. A dangerous vicious circle.

Klass Filter GmbH received the German Sustainability Award. The German Sustainability Award is the national award for excellence in sustainability in business, communities and research. In cooperation with the German government, the best concepts against global warming, overuse of resources, species extinction and social division were awarded.
